Unfortunately when migrating email only the inbox email is moved over. Once you move any email out of the inbox folder it is unreachable by another mail server. Here is a recommended approach to moving mail one folder at a time to the new server. This is time consuming and it depends on the number of folders you have and the amount of email you are storing in web mail.
We recommend people use an email reader such as Outlook if they have a permanent machine as then email is stored on your local hard disk and not the server.
If you haven't already read the migration wizard article you should read it as you will need to complete the wizard several times in order to migrate folders. You will run the wizard once for each folder. We only recommend this advanced approach if you fully understand the process.
The first thing you will want to do is migrate your inbox which after reading the initial migration article
Migrating Email from Biznet mail server (Merak) you should be able to complete.
Step 1: The first thing that you will want to do is manually create a folder to match each folder you have on the current server. Also make a temporary_inbox folder. You will then move any email that is currently in your inbox to that temporary folder so that you don't accidentally move it to another folder. Select all of your email and drag it to the new tempoary_inbox folder you created. Verify that your inbox is now empty.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If while you are migrating these folders one at a time any new email will also be dropped into your inbox so make sure you watch for it and move it to your temporary inbox folder before you move it and forget about it in one of your sub folders.
Step 2: Now that your inbox has been migrated you can now start migrating other folders. Open the Biznet web mail server at
https://mail.biznetis.net/webmail and logon using your previous username without the @yourdomain.com . Now you should see the familar web mail interface. Once you have confirmed that you inbox has been migrated you can delete all the email currently in your inbox on the Biznet server (NOT THE NEW SERVER).
Step 3: On the old web server take any folder's email that you want to migrate and select all of it. In cases of larger folders you may have to select only part of all the email in the folder.
Drag the selected email to the Inbox. This will move the folder to the inbox so that it can be migrated to the new mail server.
Step 4: Go to the smarter mail web server which you should already have open:
https://mail.prowebis.net/ . Now follow the wizard instructions again in the previous article to migrate your inbox. Once completed you should see the new email in your inbox. Select all your email and drag it to the new folder that you create for it.
You can now repeat steps 2 through 4 to migrate each folder individually. remeber to clear the inbox on your old server before dragging the new folder's content to the inbox. When you have completed migrating all of your folders you can drag your temporary_inbox mail back to the inbox.
You have now compeltely migrated all of your mail.
